The Artist
Michelle Simpson
I grew up in Tūtūkākā, chasing waves, surfing, and living for every moment I could spend in the ocean. Now I’m in Wānaka, surrounded by mountains, hiking, biking, exploring, and camping - always chasing adventure. These places, these moments, are my inspiration.
Everything I create is hand-drawn, fine line art, capturing the small details and the feeling of being somewhere wild, free, and alive. My Slow Made paintings are a reflection of that approach: made layer by layer, with patience and care, capturing the quiet rhythms of nature and the joy of being fully present.
From waves in Tūtūkākā to mountains in Wānaka, my work celebrates adventure, connection to the land, and the little moments in between - made slowly, made with love, and made to linger.
